WHO ARE WE?
Since its foundation, Las Olas Catering has served more than one million customers. This is no small feat, and it is this experience gained over the years, serving its customers with the same passion that drives us to constantly innovate.
WHERE IT ALL STARTS
In 1988, my parents, Gilles Bolduc and Constance Bousquet, opened a café-bistro in a 19-storey office tower in Longueuil. One thing leading to another, they started preparing trays and buffets to serve a growing corporate clientele in the Longueuil Metro borough.
A GROWING CLIENTELE
In 1992, two of the three Bolduc brothers took over to develop and structure the catering service in parallel with the café-bistro.
In 1996, the three brothers decided to name the new catering division Las Olas. It was in reference to Las Olas Boulevard, an epicurean space in Fort Lauderdale, that the name Las Olas was chosen. Las Olas means “The Waves” in Spanish and evokes celebration in the hearts of Quebecers.
NEW DEDICATED SPACE
In 2002, Las Olas established its production unit in the Longueuil industrial park. New premises dedicated to catering operations were built.
EXPANDED TO BETTER SERVE
In 2007, Las Olas went from 3,500 sq.ft. to 8,000 sq.ft. of production and warehousing. This complete overhaul of the state-of-the-art production areas, respecting the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation, promotes efficiency and performance.
GASTRONOMIC EVENINGS AROUND THE CLOCK
It was during the Loto-Québec International Fireworks Festival at La Ronde, from 2011 to 2015, that Las Olas developed its signature by serving more than 500 guests each evening during themed banquets.
THE MECHOUI AND BBQ EXPERIENCE
From 1996 to 2001, Las Olas Catering developed its expertise in barbeques and mechouis for large outdoor corporate events, festivals and family summer bbqs.
In 2015, the Las Olas team decided to have its own foodtruck. This large, fully equipped mobile unit allows large groups to be served on the road with a very festive look. The Foodtruck remains one of our great specialties.
In 2017, we developed the new lunch box, the poké bowl and the gourmet box in a 100% compostable custom-made container, very suitable for business meetings. This box allows us to satisfy the Foodie, vegetarian, vegan or those with specific diets or allergies.
Starting in 2016, we have developed about 50 event culinary stations. These stations, each one as original as the other, allow guests to enjoy hearty bites during cocktails while respecting current hygiene measures.
THE VEGAN, PRO-ALLERGY AND SPECIFIC DIET SHIFT
As part of a healthy and balanced diet, Las Olas develops individual dishes that respect the diets of each person. These dishes are offered as much in lunch boxes as in banquet or even in cocktail stations.
STRICT SANITARY MEASURES
With the arrival of the pandemic linked to Covid-19, Las Olas remains open to serve a clientele linked to essential services. We have put in place strict health standards, both at the various entrances to the plant and in our daily practices. The MAPAQ, the controlling authority, certifies us as an extremely safe establishment that meets the highest sanitary standards in effect for a food preparation establishment.
